OK, Chicago, we get that you're excited about your Stanley Cup win. But emergency crews don't want to have to dive into the Chicago River to pull out any more fans who decide to go for a swim. That's what local officials say happened last night when a man leaped into the river from a walkway near Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive—not necessarily because he was still pumped up after the city's rally earlier that day at Soldier Field, but because his Blackhawks cap fell into the water, the Chicago Tribune reports.
A police marine unit fetched the man, who appeared to be in his early 20s, from the river, and he was taken to the hospital as a precaution. He apparently is fine, and probably pretty self-satisfied, too: He got his hat back. (More Chicago stories.)
