The WNEP news anchor reporting on Pauline Spagnola might have been right on the money when he said she "may have thrown back a few" while celebrating her 100th birthday on Tuesday. That's because, like the 110-year-old Nebraska man who attributes his longevity to a daily can of beer, Spagnola has a similar secret to staying alive for as long as possible: "a fair amount of booze," is what she apparently told WNEP.
The newly crowned centenarian didn't have much else to reveal to reporters at the party thrown for her at the Golden LivingCenter-East Mountain assisted-living facility in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.—but that piece of advice alone seems to have carried her through the past century, so … cheers. (The French also have a secret for long life—and it literally stinks.)
