The dashcam in Michael Slager's patrol car captured more than the now-fired officer stopping Walter Scott for a busted taillight. The Guardian reports the camera recorded for an hour following that stop, and it picked up a conversation between two officers just after the shooting. It captures a senior officer instructing another officer, who appears to be Slager, on what steps the department will take after the shooting in terms of the interview process, etc. Then comes this exchange:
- Senior officer: "By the time you get home, it would probably be a good idea to kind of jot down your thoughts on what happened. You know, once the adrenaline quits pumping."
- The reply, from a laughing officer believed to be Slager: "It's pumping."
- The senior officer: "Oh yeah. Oh yeah."
A rep for the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division tells the
Guardian "it appears" to be Slager on the recording, though he has not verified that. (More
