Getty Heir Found Dead as Cops Investigate

A 47-year-old grandson of the late oil baron J. Paul Getty was found dead in his Los Angeles home today, and homicide detectives are investigating, reports the Los Angeles Times. Andrew Getty is the son of Gordon Getty, one of J. Paul's sons. TMZ, which initially reported that Getty had been shot in the face, now says he suffered a "traumatic injury to the rectal area" and that his ex-girlfriend has been detained as a possible suspect or witness. The website reports that police had made more than 30 visits to Getty's home in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood over the years, mostly for domestic disturbances. His body was found in the bathroom.
