Much of planet Earth reverberated with the news of Leonard Nimoy's death on Friday, but perhaps the most touching tribute came from above, via the Twitter account of Terry Virts. The astronaut, currently hanging out in the final frontier aboard the International Space Station, tweeted a photo of his hand in a Vulcan salute over the weekend, with Earth seen in the background through a space station window. As NBC News notes, Nimoy was a Massachusetts native, and the Bay State's coast can be seen to the right of Virts' hand. NASA administrator Charles Bolden added to the tribute, notes the Christian Science Monitor, calling Nimoy "an inspiration to multiple generations of engineers, scientists, astronauts, and other space explorers."
