Word of a Judd Apatow-produced Pee-Wee Herman flick has been going around for a while now, and today Netflix announced that it has picked up the film. Pee-Wee's Big Holiday will, of course, star Paul Reubens in the title role; Reubens also co-wrote the screenplay, according to the Hollywood Reporter. John Lee, who has helmed episodes of Broad City and Inside Amy Schumer, will direct. Little is known about the plot, but Netflix says it's a story of Pee-Wee taking "his first-ever holiday" after a "fateful meeting" with a "mysterious stranger."

"Judd and I dreamt up this movie four years ago," Reubens said, as Herman, in a statement. "The world was much different back then—Netflix was waiting by the mailbox for red envelopes to arrive. I've changed all that. The future is here. Get used to it. Bow tie is the new black." Says Netflix's chief content officer: "We are delighted by the opportunity to introduce such a beloved character to a new generation." The streaming service already features the Pee-Wee's Playhouse TV show and the two prior Pee-Wee movies. (More Pee-wee Herman stories.)
