1 Year Later, Ray Rice Apologizes to Ravens Fans

Ray Rice is coming upon an awful anniversary this weekend—it was Feb. 15 of last year when the NFL star was arrested after knocking his then-fiancee unconscious. This morning, Rice issued a statement to the Baltimore Sun in which he apologizes to the city and to Baltimore Ravens fans, especially the young ones. "To all the kids who looked up to me, I'm truly sorry for letting you down, but I hope it's helped you learn that one bad decision can turn your dream into a nightmare," he writes.

"There is no excuse for domestic violence, and I apologize for the horrible mistake I made. I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me." The Ravens have cut ties with Rice, and the Sun reports that he plans to move back to his native New York state and try to land a job with another NFL team.
