Sony: Hack Hasn't Hurt Earnings

The massive Sony Pictures cyberattack has hurt Sony's ability to release financial results on time, but hasn't made much of a difference to profits, the company says. Not that there are any profits: According to a forecast released today, the company projects a $1.4 billion loss for the fiscal year ending in March, CNN reports. The Japanese firm says cyberattack "investigation and remediation" costs will add up to around $15 million but the impact on results "will not be material." The company is in the middle of a major restructuring and it says factors including strong PlayStation 4 sales have helped narrow the projected loss, the AP reports. (One cybersecurity firm says the hack blamed on North Korea was an inside job.)
