A Washington man has come forward to claim the small drone discovered this morning on the grounds of the White House, which prompted a brief lockdown and a Secret Service investigation, the AP reports. The man, a government employee who does not work for the White House, tells investigators that he was flying the quad copter in the area around 3am, but that he lost control of it, the New York Times reports. The Secret Service appears to be buying his story. "The early indications are that it does not pose any sort of ongoing threat to anybody at the White House," said the White House press secretary earlier. Both the president and first lady are in India, though their daughters are at home. (More drones stories.)
