The so-called Guardians of Peace have apparently released the beginning of their promised and also so-called "Christmas gift," and it consists of the personal emails of Sony Entertainment CEO Michael Lynton and a dark threat for anyone with plans to go see the Christmas release of The Interview. The English-challenged email, as per the Daily Beast:

  • "We will clearly show it to you at the very time and places ‘The Interview’ be shown, including the premiere, how bitter fate those who seek fun in terror should be doomed to. Soon all the world will see what an awful movie Sony Pictures Entertainment has made. The world will be full of fear. Remember the 11th of September 2001. We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time. (If your house is nearby, you’d better leave.)”
The message concluded: “Whatever comes in the coming days is called by the greed of Sony Pictures Entertainment. All the world will denounce the SONY.

It's not clear which premiere they're referring to, notes the Beast, given that The Interview has already had its official premiere. But the New York City premiere on Christmas Day will go forward, the CEO of Landmark Theatres tells the Los Angeles Times. "We will be properly prepared for hopefully any incidents," he says. The hackers' latest salvo comes on the heels of the first lawsuit filed against Sony, by two employees for failing to protect their data. (More Sony stories.)
