Andrew Shannon put his hand through a $12 million Monet at the National Gallery Ireland two years ago, and it looks like he'll be spending the next five years behind bars for his trouble. Though he initially told cops that he was trying to "get back at the state" by ruining Argenteuil Basin with a Single Sailboat, the Metro notes that his tune changed significantly when faced with a jury of his peers, telling them that he'd "felt faint" and fell. CCTV footage told a different story, however, and he was found guilty after 90 minutes of deliberation. Shannon also has to steer clear of galleries for 15 months after he gets out. It's not the first time this has happened to a Monet. (More Monet stories.)
