It may be Thanksgiving week, but for a moment, Altaf Chaus also thought it might be his birthday. An employee at the Burger King he owns called him after finding a blue backpack left in a booth for hours. What happened next: "I open the zipper, I see lots of money, cash money, $100 bills stack up like half of the bag," Chaus tells ABC7. I said, 'Wow! Today's my birthday, this is my birthday gift.'"

In all, about $100,000 was stuffed in the bag, which was left at the Burger King on North Bascom Avenue in San Jose. Chaus quickly turned it over to police, who found a clue inside, along with candy and a bit of marijuana: a bank deposit slip. They're hoping to use it to ultimately track down the owner of the cash.
