As New York celebrated at Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade today, protesters over events in Ferguson, Mo., gathered at the scene—but it seems they didn't make much headway, nor did they make it into NBC's telecast, Mashable reports. Several chanting protesters were reportedly arrested when they tried to get into the parade's path. Afterward, organizers told the group to meet back at the New York Public Library, where demonstrations continued. Meanwhile, the parade was a success despite drizzly, 37-degree weather, the AP reports. The event featured six enormous new balloons, including Paddington Bear, Thomas the Tank Engine, and a Power Ranger. (More Ferguson, Missouri stories.)
