The life of Thomas Beatie has taken another strange turn: He was arrested late last week and charged with stalking his estranged wife, using a GPS device attached to her car, KPHO reports. Cops say the device was found when an Arizona Department of Public Safety officer helped the transgender man's wife change a flat tire. He allegedly installed it in 2012, six months after he served his wife with an order of protection requiring her to leave their home. Nancy Beatie told police her husband had frightened her by randomly showing up at places she was and asking where she had been, according to court documents seen by the Arizona Republic.

Beatie was booked on one count of stalking and released. The 40-year-old, who was born female and had a partial sex change that left his female reproductive organs intact, first hit the headlines in 2008 when he was pregnant with the first of his three children, which he conceived through artificial insemination after his wife was unable to conceive. Last year, an Arizona judge refused to grant him a divorce, deciding that there wasn't enough evidence that he was a man when he married Nancy in Hawaii in 2003, meaning his marriage could be a same-sex one, which the state couldn't legally recognize—or dissolve.
