3 Things You Need to Know About the CMAs

Missed the CMA Awards last night? Three highlights to discuss on your lunch break:

• The president got dissed ... again: Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley were back as co-hosts, and, just like last year, they made sure to get in an Obama joke, TMZ reports. "I'll be the first one to say it: President Obama does not care about post-partum Taylor Swift disorder," Paisley said as they discussed Swift having turned from country to pop. Underwood's response, which got big applause: "I'm pretty sure that's why the Democrats lost the Senate."

• Paisley may have "accidentally" revealed a big secret: During their opening monologue, Paisley asked Underwood to whisper in his ear whether she's expecting a boy or a girl. She obliged, and later in the night, he said, "Hey, we could name him Garth." Sure, it could have been part of the script, but the Stir reports that both hosts seemed "genuinely surprised" at the slip. USA Today, however, calls the bit "clearly planned." • Miranda Lambert made history: She became the most decorated female act in CMA history, the AP reports. She won four trophies, giving her a total of 11: female vocalist of the year (for the fifth consecutive year, also a record), album of the year, single of the year, and music event of the year. However, she lost the top award, entertainer of the year, to Luke Bryan; it was his first CMA. Click for the complete list of winners.
