Fugitive Eric Frein Caught in Pennsylvania

The manhunt for Eric Frein is over: Authorities in Pennsylvania have captured the suspected cop-killer at a small regional airport in the Pocono Mountains, reports NBC News. Frein surrendered without any shots fired, an FBI official tells the Philadelphia Inquirer. The 31-year-old Frein had been on the run after allegedly killing one state trooper and wounding another in a sniper attack outside their barracks on Sept. 12.

It's a "very good day," a law enforcement source tells ABC News. The 48-day manhunt came to an end when US marshals caught Frein at the Pocono Mountains Municipal Airport in Tobyhanna, Pa., reports CNN. Tobyhanna is roughly 30 miles away from Blooming Grove, where the troopers were shot. Authorities had previously found at least one of his campsites.
