L.A. Cites Paris Over 17 Pups
Paris Hilton holds 'Diamond' a Chihuahua, belonging to a fan, during an event to promote her new film 'The Hottie and the Nottie' held at the Franklin Mills Mall in Philadelphia on Thursday Jan. 24, 2008. Los Angeles animal cops have cited Paris Hilton over her multi-puppy home, but a rep for the celeb claims her doggies are no longer there. Hilton sparked animal lovers' ire last week by admitting on "Ellen DeGeneres" to owning 17 pups—an illegal act in a city where non-breeders are limited to three dogs. The pups "keep having babies, and I feel bad about giving them away," she said.

"They all sleep in my bed—well, not all of them, but I let some of them," the celeb added. Animal authorities dropped by her home, but found no Paris and no pups. Her publicist said her recently-bought house remains empty and the dogs are safely with family and friends. He said he hoped the animal cops would conclude the matter by talking to another Hilton rep later today. (More dog stories.)
