A woman who ate her roommate's cookies got a little surprise Wednesday when he allegedly flew into a rage and tried strangling her, Gawker reports. Police say that Allen Hall, 23, discovered the three missing Chips Ahoy cookies eaten by his 49-year-old roommate for breakfast. He then repeatedly threatened her and slammed on the bathroom door while she changed inside, the Herald-Review reports. But she took it as a joke: "If you are going to kill me then go ahead," she said, opening the door in their Decatur, Illinois, apartment.
So he grabbed her by the throat "with both of his hands and threw her down into the tub," said Hall, according to the affidavit. "She hit the back of her head on the tub and this caused a knot on her head." He kept strangling her until she couldn't breathe well, and would have kept going, but her husband and the landlady rushed in and pulled him off. Hall later said that his roommate "told him to kill her, so he charged." He's now being held on attempted murder and aggravated domestic battery charges on $75,000 bond.
