A Mumbai police officer is getting the hero's treatment for bringing a seriously injured man to the hospital the only way he could: He carried him on his shoulders. As the Mumbai Mirror reports, the man suffered leg and head injuries when he apparently fell from a train. Constable Prashant Tanaji Golem first tried to transport him to the hospital by vehicle, but the city's infamous traffic made that impossible. "We had already lost some time and I was concerned that the victim's condition might worsen," says Golem, so up on his shoulders went the patient as the officer hoofed it. Despite the nontraditional transport, the patient is doing fine, and his father credits police with saving his son's life. (More uplifting news stories.)
