Remy, the winner of the Westminster Kennel Club dog show's nonsporting group, may have tonight's Best in Show honors within reach of her poofy poodle paws. Vegas oddsmakers think so, anyway: One puts the odds of a standard poodle victory at 25-1, reports the New York Times. But Remy's handler says, “I think the beagle and the German shepherd should be the favorites."
His chances of being right are only 50-50—last night's herding group competition went to the Australian shepherd, Deuce. The Vegas numbers are based on the breed's record, anyway, not on individual dogs' rankings. Other pooches competing with Remy tonight are Uno, the beagle who won the hound group; terrier champ Charmin, a Sealyham; and the victors in tonight's three group competitions.
