Deposed Thai prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra has been released from military detention by coup leaders, reports CNN, two days after she was ordered to surrender. Her situation isn't entirely clear, however, with a source telling the AP that while Yingluck is no longer being held in an army camp, she is still under military control, and "she has not been freed to go home." A junta source tells CNN that she has been asked to "help us maintain peace and order and not to get involved with protesters or any political movement." A spokesman for coup leaders, meanwhile, blamed democracy for having caused "losses" in the country. Anti-coup protests gripped Bangkok for a third day. (More Thailand stories.)
