At times, it looked like Clemson might finally record a victory at Chapel Hill after 53 losses—the Tigers forced turnovers and dominated the rebounding, leading by 11 points with three minutes remaining. But even without Ty Lawson, North Carolina managed to battle back to a tie, and after two overtimes it was the Tar Heels on top, 103-93, ESPN reports.
It was a bitter loss for Clemson, which saw Cliff Hammonds secure 31 points and the team shoot 12-of-27 from the three-point line. But UNC has Tyler Hansbrough, who notched 39 points and 13 boards, and Wayne Ellington, who put up 28.
