Celebrity / Pippa Middleton Pippa's Writing Career Flops Middleton's column won't run in the 'Telegraph' anymore By Newser Editors, Newser Staff Posted May 12, 2014 9:46 AM CDT Copied Pippa Middleton, sister to the Duchess of Cambridge, arrives at the Cheltenham Festival, Cheltenham Racecourse, England, Thursday March 14, 2013. (AP Photo/PA, Joe Giddens) Kate Middleton has some pretty decent job security. The same apparently can't be said for sister Pippa, whose career as an auteur has hit yet another stumbling block. First came the abysmal sales of her book. Next, as the Daily Beast reports, Pippa's biweekly "Court and Social" column for the Telegraph has been axed after just six months. (The Beast's Tom Sykes gleefully recounts what the column was made up of: Pippa donning silly outfits and then doing "silly things—aqua-spinning classes, put up the Christmas lights on Bond Street and, er, flipping pancakes.") A rep for the paper called the column "great," but explained that as a "professional freelance writer," Pippa has moved on to other publications. By her choice, or the Telegraph's, asked the Daily Mirror. The rep wouldn't say, calling it "just one of those things." (In the Mirror's take, reader reception to her column "wasn't great.") That leaves Middleton with her Vanity Fair gig ... and a column for a supermarket's in-house magazine. (More Pippa Middleton stories.) Report an error
