The man with the job of replacing Stephen Colbert at Comedy Central is probably going to be familiar to fans. Larry Wilmore, who shows up regularly on Jon Stewart's show as its "senior black correspondent," will host a new show called Minority Report, says Variety. Wilmore and guests will comment on issues of the day in the 11:30 slot, and a Comedy Central spokesperson tells the New York Times that the idea isn't so much to focus on minority issues as it is to present minority viewpoints on all issues.
“While Larry Wilmore is a brilliant comic and showrunner, this is all just a complicated ruse to get him to move to New York and turn him into a Knicks fan,” said Stewart. Wilmore, 52, recently got named by ABC as an executive producer of an upcoming show called Black-ish, but he'll have to give up that post eventually as his own show draws nearer in January. Fans of the Office might remember Wilmore as Mr. Brown from an early show about diversity training. (More Stephen Colbert stories.)
