French women have apparently found the key to happiness—in chocolate. According to a new poll, French woman say food (chocolate in particular) is the most important factor in happiness, the Chicago Tribune reports. Men chose sex as number one, and gave it a 7.5 out of ten when ranking elements of well-being. French women gave sex a 6.7 and said they would prefer less sex to less food. Men, of course, chose less food. Could French men be falling short in the bedroom?
Not really, says Ian Kerner, a sex and relationship adviser: "A lot of people have just lowered their expectations around sex," and are used to "being in sex ruts or not having sex." What's more, he says, "People break up every day over their sex lives. I have yet to see anybody who's breaking up over chocolate." On the other hand, the polling agency noted that 72% of French people said a bad lover is worse than a partner who can't cook, Reuters reports.
