Amanda Knox took to CNN yesterday to refute the latest claims of an Italian court—which this week asserted in an explanation of her reinstated guilty verdict that she delivered the blow that killed roommate Meredith Kercher. "I did not kill my friend. I did not wield a knife. I had no reason to," Knox said, noting that in the month "that we were living together, we were becoming friends," never fighting and even attending a classical music concert the week prior to Kercher's death. Knox said it's been made clear she wasn't present during the murder: "If I were there, I would have traces of Meredith's broken body on me. And I would have left traces of myself around Meredith's corpse. And I am not there. And that proves my innocence."

"As this case has progressed, the evidence that the prosecution has claimed exists against me has been proven less and less and less. And all that has happened is that they've filled these holes with speculation," she noted, citing an "artificial complexity" given to the case. "It's not a complex case." She can appeal one more time, to Italy's highest court, CNN notes. "I truly believe that it is possible to win this," she said. Meanwhile, the judge who previously overturned the convictions of Knox and her then-boyfriend had this to say: "The Florence Appeal Court has written a script for a movie or a thriller book while it should have only considered facts and evidence. There is no evidence to condemn Knox and Sollecito." (One columnist breaks down why the judges' document is a "new low" in the case.)
