If you've been watching the Daily Show this week, you knew Jon Stewart would weigh in on Cliven Bundy's racist comments, and he got right to it last night, deriding the rancher as a "professor of Negro studies … at Duke University. David Duke University." He then advised Sean Hannity and Fox News to stop promoting Bundy, playing a clip from the network in which Bundy said he was "a bit like the founding fathers." That's true, Stewart said. "But the bit of you that's like our founding fathers is the bit of them that we're ashamed of."

The brief segment seems to put a capper on Stewart's week-long feud with Hannity. In case you missed it, Stewart on Monday took Hannity to task as Bundy's main advocate. Hannity shot back on his show Tuesday, accusing Stewart of being "obsessed" with him, which Stewart readily admitted to the next night, calling Hannity's show "the Arby's of news" because it's "serving up the same [bleep] night after night." Hannity essentially buried the hatchet on his radio show yesterday, Mediaite reports. After denouncing Bundy's comments, Hannity said that Stewart "is extremely talented and funny. … I only wish he would do similar bits on Obama and Democrats." (More Jon Stewart stories.)
