Anderson Cooper comes from money—lots of money. But he told Howard Stern Monday that he won't be inheriting any of his mother Gloria Vanderbilt's $200 million fortune. "My mom’s made clear to me that there’s no trust fund. There’s none of that," said Cooper. He went on to perhaps inadvertently slam his mom, who inherited most of her money thanks to being the great-great-great-granddaughter of railroad tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt, the New York Post reports:
- "I don’t believe in inheriting money … I think it’s an initiative sucker," he said. "I think it’s a curse. Who’s inherited a lot of money that has gone on to do things in their own life? From the time I was growing up, if I felt that there was some pot of gold waiting for me, I don’t know that I would’ve been so motivated."
He added that he doesn't need it, and that's most definitely true: He makes about $11 million a year thanks to his job at CNN. Cooper also discussed Alec Baldwin, whom Cooper has called out for his anti-gay comments, during the wide-ranging interview, the
Huffington Post reports. "I mean, what adult does not know that calling a guy a c---sucker is" an anti-gay slur, Cooper said. "But I never said he was homophobic. I have no idea what's in his head." (More
