Speculation is swirling: Why would L'Wren Scott kill herself, as she is believed to have done yesterday? Not surprisingly, it took the New York Post very little time to find multiple sources who claim Scott and Mick Jagger had recently broken up after a dozen years together. One of those sources says Scott was planning to look for a new apartment after Jagger got back from his Australia tour with the Rolling Stones. But a rep for Jagger insisted last night that the story "is 100% untrue," and is "a horrible and inaccurate piece of gossip during this very tragic time for Mick," Fox News reports. Indeed, the Stones canceled tomorrow's scheduled concert in Perth, which was to be the tour opener, the Guardian reports. There's no word yet on the rest of the tour, but the Post says Jagger is headed back to New York.

Meanwhile, the New York Daily News talks to Lupe Montufar, Scott's housekeeper from 1993 until 2009. She says Scott "sacrificed a lot" for her relationship with Jagger: "She knew there were other women, but she accepted it to be with him. ... She would tell me she wanted to get married and have a family, but she didn’t want to get her hopes up or say it out loud to Mick. She didn’t want to pressure him." The Daily Mail, too, talks to sources who say Scott wanted kids and was resentful of her "standing" in Jagger's family, particularly at her position as girlfriend, not wife. They also say she had been struggling with depression recently, and had just gone through a "self-harm incident" a few weeks ago. "She just wasn't well enough to go on tour with" the Stones, as she usually would have, one source says. Her fashion business was also reportedly struggling, and Scott was said to be millions of dollars in debt. (More L'Wren Scott stories.)
