L'Wren Scott—fashion designer, model, and Mick Jagger's girlfriend—has been found dead in an apparent suicide in her Manhattan apartment, sources tell the New York Post. Scott's assistant found the 47-year-old, hanged, around 10am today, police tell the New York Daily News. Foul play is not suspected, and there was no note. Jagger's spokesperson tells the BBC the singer is "completely shocked and devastated."
The Post speaks with police sources who say Scott texted her assistant around 8:30am with a simple "Come by"; Scott was reportedly found hanging from a scarf on a doorknob. The fashion designer had dated Jagger since 2001, and her death comes on the heels of her canceled London Fashion Week show. She blamed the February cancellation on production delays.
