The Super Bowl champion New York Giants received a New York welcome at today's victory parade. Hundreds of thousands of fans and 50 tons of confetti filled the streets of Lower Manhattan. Players waved atop floats, many catching the action on camcorders as fans bellowed their support, and Michael Strahan showed off the Vince Lombardi trophy, the New York Post reports.

"This team just created one of the greatest moments in New York City sports history,” crowed a supporter. Last night, airport crew members and fans cheered as the team’s plane landed; hundreds more greeted them soon after at Giants Stadium. The unlikely champs moved on to a ceremony at New York's City Hall and a celebration at Giants Stadium. (More New York City stories.)
