(AP Photo/Denis Tyrin) A second major terrorist attack in the space of 24 hours has shaken the Russian city of Volgograd, less than six weeks before the start of the Sochi Olympics. Authorities say at least 14 people were killed in an apparent suicide attack on an electric trolleybus close to a hospital where victims of yesterday's suicide attack in a railway station were being treated, the Guardian reports, describing a "disfigured" bus left without a roof or walls. Another 41 have been injured, reports RT. Officials say they believe the two attacks are linked, though no group has claimed responsibility. But the Guardian notes that security experts are drawing a link between the attacks—which now number three in three months—to Chechen jihadist leader Doku Umarov, who has vowed to interfere with the Games. RT notes a Volgograd basketball game scheduled for next Monday has pre-emptively been canceled over security fears. (More Volgograd stories.) Report an error
