Almost five years after everyone expected Silda Wall Spitzer to dump Eliot, she finally got around to it: A day after the NY Post's gleeful report that the erstwhile Client No. 9 had a girlfriend, the couple announced their split in a Christmas Eve statement sure to warm the hearts of, well, no one: "We regret that our marital relationship has come to an end and we have agreed not to make any other public statement on this subject." Rumors of the divorce have been swirling since 2008, er, July, but the Post reports that the couple is negotiating a settlement that will leave Spitzer's Manhattan real estate holdings untouched.
