Melquiesha Warren was celebrating her wife's 28th birthday, four days before her own 24th birthday, at a San Francisco nightclub early Sunday when a minor fender bender turned deadly. Warren and a friend, Danisha Bean, had left the club and were sitting in Bean's parked car around 2am. Another car in the parking lot pulled out, backed into Bean's car, and the front fender fell off. When Warren got out of the car, a disagreement ensued. She was pushed, then a man from the other car "just opened fire," Warren's wife, TiffanyRenee Warren, tells the San Francisco Chronicle.
Warren was shot in the head and died at a nearby hospital. Someone had earlier tried to pull Bean out of the car, but failed since she was wearing her seatbelt; she was shot in the side and critically injured. One of the suspects ran away, and the rest drove off; no arrests have yet been made. "I'm just flabbergasted. It was just an accident," says TiffanyRenee Warren. "She lost her life. An innocent life was taken over an accident." One witness who heard the confrontation tells ABC Local, "I heard the arguing. I mean, it wasn't really that bad. I mean, to me. I don't know, didn't really catch my attention. And then I heard gunshots." (More weird crimes stories.)
