Casey Wagner was at a mudding and off-roading event near Gainesville, Texas, on Saturday when a thunderstorm arrived. The 31-year-old rodeo clown moved under a tree, where he was struck by lightning not once, but twice, CBS Dallas/Fort Worth reports. "What I remember is just a loud boom and it dropped me to my knees and then it hit me again," Wagner says. "It was just two big ol' flashes and then sparks went everywhere."

Electricity apparently headed from his right foot across his body to his left wrist; "I had discoloration where it would have popped out." Fortunately, a nurse was nearby, and Wagner was hospitalized—and after losing feeling at the lightning's entry and exit points, he's got it back. "It just feels like my whole body is waking up," he notes. "Like if your arm falls asleep, that’s how my whole body feels." Safety tip from the US government: Never shelter under a tree in a storm.
