Sorry, You Can't Update Your Facebook Status

OK, nobody panic. We're going to get through this together as a society, but it appears that you cannot currently tell anyone how you are feeling on Facebook. The site is currently experiencing a strange technical glitch that allows users to read their news feeds, but not to post statuses, comments, or photos, Mashable reports. You can't send messages either, or even like things.

Update: Just before noon, Facebook announced that the glitch had come during a bit of scheduled network maintenance. "We are now back to 100%," it promised. (More Facebook stories.)
