A fugitive with ties to former New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez was taken into custody in Connecticut today, authorities say. Alexander Bradley, 31, of East Hartford was found at a home in Hartford, the US Marshal's Service says. Bradley has filed a lawsuit against Hernandez, asserting he was shot in the face by the former player in February as they were driving in Florida after arguing in a Miami strip club. In July, Bradley testified before a grand jury in Massachusetts investigating the June death of 27-year-old Odin Lloyd, whose body was found not far from Hernandez's mansion in North Attleborough, Mass. At the time, authorities said they were interested in similarities between Lloyd's death and the shooting of Bradley.
Bradley later was subpoenaed to appear before a second grand jury in Massachusetts investigating a double homicide in Boston last year, which also has been linked to Hernandez. But he failed to appear at a hearing to show why he should not be required to testify before that panel, and a fugitive warrant was issued for him last month. Bradley is scheduled to appear this afternoon in Hartford Superior Court. He was charged with criminal violation of a protective order and interfering with police and held on a $50,000 bond. Authorities say he was found in the home of a woman who had a protective order against him. (More Aaron Hernandez stories.)
