Planning to see Britney Spears during her two-year Las Vegas residency? Well, hopefully you weren't planning on actually hearing her sing. "Britney does not sing. She is being paid a lot of money to lip-sync," a source tells the New York Daily News. "She hasn't sung live for a couple of years." Indeed, Spears has been accused of faking it in the past; in 2009, outraged fans walked out of concerts in Australia over her lip-syncing.
"Her fans are none the wiser," the source continues, "but it is disingenuous of her to take their cash [tickets cost between $59 and $179] and not deliver a proper performance." A rep for Spears insists, of course, "Britney will be singing. As stated before, she is in vocal training—has been for months." On Friday, Spears talked about the Vegas gigs and her new album, out in December, with Ryan Seacrest. "It’s the most personal album I've ever done," she says. "After having a huge breakup this year [with ex-fiance Jason Trawick], I had a lot to say in the studio so it was nice to have a therapy like that and to be able to share that with my fans."
