Rihanna has been busily posting photos to Instagram, so predictably arrests have been made. The brouhaha this time arose after the pop star, whilst vacationing on the Thai island of Phuket, uploaded a pic of herself and a cute little critter: A cute little critter called the slow loris that is a protected species. And being that this is Rihanna's vacation photo, it garnered 200,000 likes and the attention of local cops, who "arrested the two individuals who brought out the loris as a photo opportunity for tourists," a Phuket district chief tells the AP today. Cops confiscated two lorises from the two males, ages 16 and 20; they've been charged with possession of protected animals, and could face up to four years in prison and $1,300 in fines.
"It's like a cat-and-mouse game. But this time it's bigger because a celebrity like Rihanna posted the picture, and there were more than 200,000 'likes' from around the world," says the Phuket chief. Rihanna, meanwhile, posted some more photos of herself with elephants (captioned "They all hail Empress when She walk by."), and has left the country. (More Rihanna stories.)
