US / Texas Teen Stabbed to Death, 3 Hurt in Texas School Fight It may have been a knife fight By Kevin Spak, Newser Staff Posted Sep 4, 2013 11:40 AM CDT Copied Emergency personnel remove a person from the school after at least one person was killed and others were injured during an altercation inside Spring High School, Sept. 4, 2013, in Spring, Texas. (AP Photo/The Houston Chronicle, Mayra Beltran) A 17-year-old student was stabbed to death and three others injured during a fight at a Texas high school today. Three "persons of interest" are in custody, KHOU reports. All of the victims are students. One 16-year-old was airlifted to a nearby hospital in critical condition, though his parents and pastor say he will be OK. Unconfirmed Twitter reports indicate that a "gang fight" broke out in or near the cafeteria at Spring High School, which is located in a town of the same name outside Houston. Police say they'll investigate whether gangs were actually involved. Students are being evacuated by bus to a nearby parking lot, parents tell the Houston Chronicle, adding that they're frustrated by the lack of communication about the incident from school officials. More than 100 people gathered to watch the buses arrive to pick up the students. One father tells KHOU that his son described the fight as having taken place in a back hallway, and said that five students were stabbed. "They sent me pictures of all the blood everywhere."
