Geraldo Rivera's semi-naked selfie is still making waves. The Fox News commentator has been booted from a speaking engagement at Pittsburgh's Duquesne University, which decided the photo "was inappropriate and inconsistent with who we are as a Catholic university," the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. Rivera had originally been slated to appear as part of a panel on the 50th anniversary of JFK's assassination.
Rivera called his dismissal from the panel "incredibly rude," and claims he only found out he had been given the axe when a stranger in a hotel bar told him the news. "Are all prospective speakers similarly scrutinized, or is my sin receiving special attention?" he said in a scathing statement to Politico. "Does the 'selfie' over-weigh my Peabody, Emmys, RFK's and other professional achievements on Duquesne's scale of morality? ... With the Pirates in contention for the World Series for the first time in a generation, this act by another Pittsburgh institution was incredibly Bush League." (More Duquesne University stories.)
