(AP Photo/Michel Spingler) The news that Amélie is being made into a Broadway musical was met with quite a bit of enthusiasm on Twitter, but one noteworthy person is not happy about it, the Los Angeles Times reports. The idea "deeply disgusts me," Jean-Pierre Jeunet, who directed the 2001 French film, tells a French radio station. "I absolutely loathe musical comedies, and I hate Broadway. I see it as tackiness incarnate." So why in the world did he approve the project? For the money, he says, which he will donate to a children's charity. "I can tell you that I won't go to see it, I don't want to hear about it, I won't listen to what they're creating," Jeunet continues. "But if it brings in money, maybe I can save some lives."
