Huge Sinkhole Swallows Trees in Crazy Video

Remember the 12-acre sinkhole that forced evacuations in Louisiana's Bayou Corne? Well, it's gotten a whole lot bigger—and hungrier, apparently. A video from the Assumption Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness shows the sinkhole, now doubled in size to 24 acres, eagerly eating up a bunch of trees in what the Christian Science Monitor likens to "spaghetti noodles surrendering to a pot of boiling water." Created when a Texas Brine salt mine caved in, the sinkhole has displaced area residents, some of whom have sued the company; the state of Louisiana and Assumption Parish's police also announced plans to sue earlier this month.
