Former Microsoft Exec Was Pilot in Connecticut Crash

Four bodies have been recovered from the scene of yesterday's plane crash into a house in East Haven, Connecticut, reports the Hartford Courant. Though official confirmation is pending, it now appears all but certain that the small plane's pilot was a former Microsoft VP named Bill Henningsgaard, reports the Daily Astorian of Oregon. His teenage son, Maxwell, was with him and also is presumed dead. They had flown to the East Coast to visit colleges, reports the Seattle Times.

Also killed were two children in the house they struck, ages 1 and 13. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but witnesses say they heard the engines stop just before the plane plummeted. The plane had missed its first approach to the nearby Tweed-New Haven airport and was making a second attempt before the crash occurred. The AP reports that Henningsgaard had to crash-land in Oregon's Columbia River in 2009 after his engine quit. He and his mother were rescued from the wing as the plane began to sink.
