Darnell Jackson led the Jayhawks with 21 points, six of which came during a back-breaking 15-5 run in the second half to put Kansas up 64-41 over the Cyclones. Kansas shot a very respectable fifty percent from the field while holding Iowa State to just 31 percent, reports the Associated Press. In Big East action: Two Scarlet Knights, Anthony Farmer and Mike Coburn, each scored 23 points to lead Rutgers to a stunning 80-68 upset over No. 18 Villanova. Sam Young scored 26 points as No. 13 Pittsburgh rolled over St. John’s 81-57. The Panthers improved to 5-2 since starters Mike Cook and Levance Fields went down with injuries.
