The newest whiz-bang TV will set you back a cool $15,000. South Korean companies LG and Samsung are selling 55-inch curved OLED televisions in the US, reports the Verge. LG is doing so via Best Buy (the rollout will gradually expand to stores across the US) and Samsung only through select dealers at first. The TVs are uber-thin and sleek-looking, and production is so tricky that prices aren't expected to come down anytime soon, reports the Wall Street Journal. OLED stands for "organic light-emitting-diode" technology, and CNET offers a primer on why this amounts to a "dream" TV: "incredible contrast, impossibly thin, extremely energy efficient." Just not very economical. (More large-screen TVs stories.)
