Netflix is officially a player in the original TV game: Emmy nominations were announced this morning, and both House of Cards and Arrested Development scored nods. Cards was nominated for nine awards including Best Drama Series (the first top Emmy nod for an online series, the AP reports), and cast members Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright were nominated in the lead actor/actress categories. As for fan favorite Arrested Development, Jason Bateman was nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The most nominations, 17, went to American Horror Story: Asylum; Game of Thrones was a close second with 16. The ceremony airs Sept. 22 on CBS, with Neil Patrick Harris as host.
