GOP strategist Frank Luntz—the guy who got the party to stop saying "estate tax" and "healthcare reform" and start using "death tax" and "government takeover of healthcare"—is tackling a different kind of linguistic problem at the moment. His strategy group is holding a focus group which may determine whether the Washington Redskins should finally change their controversial name, ThinkProgress reports.
Luntz won't comment, but an email survey from his firm circulated last week to find participants for the group was asking many questions directly about the Redskins, including the question, "Which of the following best reflects your opinion of the NFL team name 'Washington Redskins'?" Multiple choice answers include. "I find the name offensive and they should change it" and "I don’t find the name offensive and they should keep it as is." (More Washington Redskins stories.)
