No. 6 Volunteers Beat Buckeyes Down Stretch

No. 6 Tennessee improved to 16-1 for the second time in its history with a 74-69 win over Ohio State today, reports the Associated Press. The Volunteers only hit 47.1% of their free throws, but Tyler Smith made two when it counted with 11 seconds left to put the game away. JaJuan Smith led Tennessee with 15 points. In other Top 25 action:

  • Kansas State handed No. 10 Texas A&M its second road loss of the week as Michael Beasley scored 21 in a 75-54 Big 12 win.
  • Deonta Vaughn scored 14 points to lead Cincinnati to a 62-59 upset of No. 15 Pittsburgh. The Bearcats, who beat Villanova last week, are 2-0 in the Big East.
