United Adds Bed-Seats on 182 Planes

If you're heading across the Atlantic—and you're flying first class—United Airlines wants to make your inevitable nap more comfortable. The airline will now offer seats that can lie completely flat in premium cabins on all its long-haul international flights out of New York, USA Today reports. The new seats, which also come with a personal, on-demand TV setup, will be installed on all 182 of the airline's planes with "Global First" and "BusinessFirst" cabins.

United had already announced that it would add the fancy new seats to its cross-country flights from New York to LA and San Francisco, mirroring Delta, which has installed them on the same routes, along with New York to Seattle. There are some perks in the pipeline for non-first-class flyers too; United is upgrading its cross-country 757s so that the on-demand entertainment systems and wi-fi will be available throughout the plane.
